Abstract

The proposed article examines the history of the Russian words myro (‘chrism’) and myrra (‘myrrh’), taking into account their etymology. The semantics of terms in the source language and in the history of the Russian language are considered. Materials related to the word smirna, synonymous with the noun myrra, are also involved.
