Abstract

On November 28, 2024, the Scientific Center for Patrological Research named after Professor A. I. Sidorov of the Department of Theology of the Sretensky Theological Academy, together with the Missionary Department of the Moscow (City) Diocese and the Commission for the Church Rehabilitation of Persons Who Have Fallen Away from Orthodoxy of the Moscow (City) Diocese, held the Fourth Scientific and Practical Theological Conference on the topic “Neo-Protestantism in Russia” at the Sretensky Theological Academy in the framework of a plenary session and two sessions. It featured 23 papers that analyzed the issues of distinguishing between Protestantism and neo-Protestantism, theological and canonical assessment of neo-Protestantism, the evolution of theological ideas and modern trends in neo-Protestantism, the methodology of polemics with non-Protestant heresies and improving the teaching of sectarian topics in theological schools through the use of educational video debates, the organization and methodology of church rehabilitation of persons who have fallen away from Orthodoxy to neo-Protestant heresies, as well as the activities of neo-Protestant rehabilitation centers and the manifestation of neo-Pro­testant ideas in Orthodoxy.
