Abstract

The publication is a translation from German of the work «Faith in the Resurrection of Christ as a fundamental dogma of the Apostolic Church» by the famous Serbian holy theologian and prolific Сhurch writer of the XX century — St. Nicholas (Velimirovich), Bishop of Žiča (1880–1956), which the then 28‑year-old Nikola Velimirovic defended at the University of Bern in 1908 and published in German there in 1910: Velimirovitch N. Der Glaube an die Auferstehung Christi als Grunddogma der apostolischen Kirche. Bern, 1910. In this work, Nicholas examines the New Testament teaching about the resurrection of Christ and His appearances after the resurrection to the apostles, showing the exclusivity of Christian ideas about the value of the body in light of Christ’s Resurrection and the coming general resurrection and eternal life.
