Abstract

The publication represents a continuation of the Russian translation of Evagrius Ponticus’s work «Antirrheticus», that is the Seventh Discourse, the theme of which is to the struggle against the passion of vanity. The translation was produced according to the latest critical edition of the Syriac text (2024), taking into account the previous edition of 1912. Since a great part of the text consists of biblical quotations, which largely correspond to the Peshitta version, discrepancies with the Peshitta and the Synodal translation are indicated in the footnotes.
