The article deals with the main forms of veneration of saints in Anglo-Saxon England. In the historical context of the period under study the tradition of venerating holy relics is outlined, the peculiarities of composing prayer petitions (litanies) are indicated, and also the regularities of the subsequent expansion of the source base (including those having liturgical significance) of the memory of saints — the appearance of calendars and martyrologies — are revealed.
